Once the page holes were all cut out, I sealed the inside of the cutout and the outside of the pages with a thick coat of mod podge, again letting it dry completely underneath my heavy duty sewing machine! Then came the challenge of actually attaching the book to the belt. And THAT, my friends, deserves its own post. The engineering that had to go into that thing...

For each armhole, I cut a piece of 1/2” upholstery foam and two pieces of white spandex. I sewed the white spandex together along the outside, then flipped it inside out and inserted the piece of upholstery foam. I actually went through two patterns with this — the first pattern tapered too much at the end of the “C”, making it impossible to fit the thicker part of the foam inside!
