I somehow decided I wanted to make a Peeves costume and pester people at the Harry Potter festival.

So I made this in two weeks on my Twitch stream, made my face blue, and pelted people with marshmallows while singing obnoxiously.

It was ridiculously awesome! People seemed to think I was Harley Quinn for some reason, though.

  • Jacket
    I used one of Simplicity's steampunk patterns to make the jacket, changing the back from a long coat into coattails and omitting the pockets and lace ruffles. The fabric was a couple of hideous velvet overstock nightgowns with fabric smocking I happened across. The velvet was two-way stretch, so I heat'n'bonded it to some cheap bottomweight to take out the stretch. The smocking details were used on the shoulders to add interest. The jacket is fully lined with crepe-back satin. The tails are supported by aluminum armature wire sewn into the hem and are fully pose-able for maximum mischief! 

  • Accessories
    - ​The wig is a cheap wig I found on eBay.
    - The boots I've had in my closet for years. I also used them as part of my Regina and Nightmare Moon costumes!
    - Socks are also a JoAnn find during the Halloween season.
    - The leggings are from Amazon.
    ​- I made the bow tie out of some yellow ribbon.
    - The hat is more red velvet and blue stretch satin from JoAnn, created using this tutorial!
    - Facepaint is Mehron Paradise Paint in Light Blue, contouring done with eyeshadow!
