My love for all things lunar runs deep, so of course I didn't stop at Princess Luna -- I had to make Nightmare Moon! I won't say I was entirely rooting for eternal night... but deep down inside I kind of was. I love the quiet, the coolness, the stars, the moon, and all of the mysteries the night brings. I mean, I guess we need the sun for things like food and warmth, but... I can definitely sympathize with the Mare in the Moon.

This was my first armor set ever, and I learned a lot! Looking back at it now, there's a lot I could improve on, but I'm very proud of my first attempt!

  • Armor
    The armor is all EVA foam in various thicknesses with hot glue detailing. I made the pattern by wrapping myself in saran wrap and duct tape and drawing the shapes I wanted onto it. The armor was painted with metallic blue and hammered silver spray paint with a light blue highlight color. 

    Additional strips of black lace and blue organza were added after their edges were melted with a candle for both weathering and non-fraying purposes. Additional gems and chains finished out the detailing!

  • Accessories
    - Many of the accessories were recycled from my Princess Luna cosplay including the wig, wings, and necklace.
    - The gloves are from eBay and detailed with fake nails clipped to a point
    - The pointy teeth are formed with friendly plastic
