Pyrrha Nikos

When you're placed on a pedestal for so long... you become separated from the people that put you there in the first place.

I love Pyrrha's quiet badassery. She's a highly skilled fighter with a honest, trusting heart. She tries to see the best in people, but if she can't find it, she can become a very formidable enemy.

There's a certain sense of irony in the fact that Cinder and Pyrrha are my two favorite RWBY characters. They're like two sides of myself. The Cinder side of me wants to be cool, calm, collected, always in control. The Pyrrha side of me wants to see her friends succeed, be strong and loyal, and always be ready to take down injustice.

  • Dress
I custom-drafted the dress pattern by draping on my dressform, then making a mock-up and fitting it to my body. The dress itself is made of a red matte satin. The open back of the dress is covered with illusion mesh to facilitate the adding of extra lacy details!

I'm also planning to line the dress with a mid-weight polyester silk to give it structure!

  • Wig
The wig is a Jeannie in Crimson from Arda wigs. I cut and styled the bangs, and did some light curling on the ponytail!

  • Accessories
    - The crown is 4mm EVA foam with a pleather backing. All details are done using the hot glue casting method in silicone molds. The crown is primed with Plasti-Dip and painted with a mix of Jacquard and Craftsmart paints, and studded with red rhinestones and half-balk acrylic pearls!
    - The dangle beads are Swarovski briolette glass beads that I purchased from Etsy. To get the look of the gold setting, I painted the tops and bottoms of the gems with several layers of Jacquard paints. I hooked them on to the gold chain with jump rings, and glued the chain to the crown!
    - The contacts are EOS Adult Green from Honeycolor.com.
