Disney Princess Scientists
That's the thing! I've charted stars, and they're always constant. But these, they appear every year on my birthday!
This series is dedicated to all of the women scientists out there who are told to repress their femininity to be successful in their fields. My female colleagues and I have been told by our professors and superiors to refrain from wearing makeup or dresses while presenting at conferences, colloquia, and other professional settings. As someone who loves traditionally feminine things like dresses, makeup, and sewing, these attitudes hit very close to home!
Even today, there's this idea that women can't simultaneously be pretty and smart. Which is, quite frankly, ridiculous! We all have to do what we can to contradict that claim, and this is my contribution.

A huge thank you to the cosplayers who helped bring this series to life:
Photo EditingI time-lapsed all the photo edits in this series! I was going for a very stylized, painted look to evoke a fantasy setting.
All the photo edits were quite intense, requiring blending of various different images in addition to the usual skin retouching and color adjustments.
This speed edit of Snow White shows how much work goes into just one of these images! I think I spent 5 hours editing this one photo.
