The Hunger Games is one of those rare cases where I prefer the movies to the books. The writing, cinematography, and acting all come together to paint a compelling picture of Panem and the scared girl reluctantly leading the revolution.
And, of course, the costumes are brilliant. The costume and makeup crew do such a phenomenal job making Katniss look so different from scene to scene, really capturing the power of makeup and fashion both inside the Capitol and out. I, of course, thought it would be a brilliant idea to recreate the dress that looks like live coals. This design appears in Catching Fire during the Tribute Parade in the Capitol. construction notes
